Los Angeles–born artist Alex Whitehouse has rapidly emerged as one of the most compelling new voices in contemporary art. As an innovator and leading force behind New Age Expressionism, Whitehouse has cultivated a bold visual language built on raw materials, primitive figures, visceral poses, and vivid color. Whitehouse’s artistic identity began forming at an early age, forged in the midst of family trauma and the challenges of social isolation. When he was just ten years old, his father suffered the first of multiple heart attacks—an event that would ripple through his adolescence and continue to influence the symbolic vocabulary of his work.
